Well, we lost 4-3 while giving up 2 hits. :( How the bleep does that happen? Well, the two hits are, predictably, HRs. a 1-9 and a 1-12. And one run scores on a WP. <sigh> We got 7 hits, no HRs. Missed our 1-7 bphr chance, of course.

Lost the other game on a 1-11, fly out the rest with 2 outs. Of course, he did miss two 1-7 bphrs so *maybe* things are turning a little.

We did win game 1 in 17 innings. Of course, it took us 17 hits (to his 10) and blowing a 6-0 lead to do so. A 1-7 bphr by KLX sent us to extras. We missed our only 1-7 of the game.

This team just may be snakebit. Sure seems that way.

I did have the windows game for a while, (until one day my windows blue screened and I had to ask strat for all my keys again--it did the same thing a few months later and Strat refused to activate my keys a third time.

Anyway, I ran a lot of sims with my 1st 3 or 4 teams just to do what you are suggesting.

I can tell you that the windows game and on-line are two different beasts entirely--the AI is vastly different (and better I think) in windows--at least back in 2013 on so. (It manages the running game and bullpen much better with the settings you can set--which are quite different)

One problem is You can't get windows to stick with your lineups with a low use player even if you set it to ignore usage...unless you only put 9 hitters on the team. But you can sim it that way and set it to ignore injuries.

Windows was fairly consistent with results win pct. wise (teams within 5 games or so most of the time) but not playoff team wise as it's just too close win totals for a bunch of 80M teams.

My results never matched on-line results of my on-line teams for the 3 or 4 teams I tried it. I quicky learned not to rely on sims to try to get a heads up on the league in the frenzy phase.

But a 5 game swing with a bunch of good managers is also a big factor in playoff berths--there really is a lot of luck IMO.

I think Semper might still run sims and I think the game has better setting than it did 12 years ago (at least I hope so!)

I know Wineman did some sims back in that era also and the results were wildly different over the course of 20-30 sims. And, it *was* difficult to get the settings just right for sure.

Anyway, luck is a big deal. We somehow managed to win 2 tonight (one in 13 innings) but continue to have problems in the pen (which, I admit, is a team composition issue). Foley, my erstwhile closer, blew a lead and then lost in 10 in game 3. Soooo close to a much needed sweep. :(

Oh, and we lost Lindor for the fourth time these season, 3 times for 3 games and once for 2. I guess it could be worse, I could be losing guys for 15 instead of just 3.

Your Current Injuries
Lindor, Francisco, through Game 63

Recently Off the Injured List
Lindor, Francisco, healthy for Game 55

Well, I don't have any injuries at the moment, but...

Joyce, Ben, healthy for Game 55
Sanchez, Jesus, healthy for Game 56
Hill, Derek, healthy for Game 59
Mikolas, Miles, healthy for Game 61
Andujar, Miguel, healthy for Game 61

the last 15 games have been injury riddled for me, on both my active teams.

Gonna be out of the country for a couple of weeks so probably won't post much or make many changes to the team or lineup (hopefully Hal is good at the job)

Be nice to me while I'm gone! :)

Thanks!

Also, I have to know that after losing 9 of 10 and 12 of 15, we've won three series so maybe the rolls are falling our way a bit.

Let's keep it going boys!

My 96 year old mom passed away yesterday--I will probably not be on-line much for about a week, though I generally do not post much anyway, but if I don't respond to league mails for a while just letting you guys know.

I'm really sorry Randy. I know it was a rough time lately as well.

Prayers to her, and to you.
