Roberto Alomar

Using him for the 1st time and in a word this is what i think of him : SUCKS

Using the '99 card 1e6 and he has 5e's in 39 games. He's not much of a hitter either. The only thing he is doing successfully is getting walked. I want to get rid of him because the drop rate rises Sunday night, but the alternatives are mindbogglingly dismal. I need someone who can hit in the 9 hole and not make the key errors that lose games. Thus far, I would never use this guy again. I'm @ Forbes '57 and figured he'd hit and play some D. What to do? What to do? Of course, I start thinking about dumping him and after a 1 for 26 streak, 9 games without a hit, he goes 4 for 4. What to do? What to do?

I have used him many times with mostly poor results on the other hand Nellie Fox usually does great for less money especially his 1 E-10 card, he cant steal bases but in strat the stolen base is not a big deal.

High dollar guys who walk a lot combined with superior defense usually disappoint and/or are disparaged on the boards. A-Rod, Joe Morgan, Alomar's expensive cards are often disappointing in counting stats, but some of the things they can do (especially defensively) aren't as readily apparent. That said, I would use Nellie Fox in Forbes over Alomar. Cheaper, great D, will outhit Alomar, though Alomar will have a higher OBP.

I punched Roberto for Nellie. As I remember it, Nellie was always solid. I'm not looking for greatness just consistent D and hitting. 5e's in 39 games on top of a basic .225 average was bummin me majorly. My team already is hurting wins wise but e's in pivotal moments in the game have cost me. 1-5 in Xtras and 3-6 in 1 runs. I did an entire overall before the drop rate goes up. Cobb is another one. .243 ave., .321 obp. Where's that .426 at ? Okay okay, how bout .300 though.I'll give him time though. My pen had an era of 10.43 with a whip of .248. I go with what I got now.
