80 mil, no DH, 2 round draft plus add 3 50centers in autodraft from non-drafted franchises
Your ball park must come from one of the 2 sets you select.
Divisions are East = 1/4/7/10 etc
Draft order - I'll get someone not int he league to generate a random set of 12 numbers - 1st number is mine, 2nd is MrHarryC, 3rd is bontom etc

There are aprox 21 teams, each has a DB, a Pre-war, a post-war and an expansion team - so that would be almost 84 possible franchises elligible to be drafted. And everyone drafts 2

With the exception of 3 50centers, your team will be made up entirely of the players carded to those franchises. No exceptions, so draft wisely and watch for the need for subs and RPs.

Any player on mutiple drafted franchises, will be award to the franchise which has the highest value and, if that team dosen't draft him, any other team to which they're carded could pick them up as free agents. Every team still can only have players that are carded to their franchise.
The team to which the player is carded, will determine which area he will be eligible for.

Each ERA (DB/Pre/Post/Exp) would contain the following teams:

Philadelphia Phillies
A's/Royals (Philadelphia/KC/Oak)
Boston
Chicago White Sox
Chicago Cubs
NY Yankees (incl Highlanders)
Giants (NY & SF)
Brooklyn/LA Dodgers
Pittsburg
Cinncinatti
Detroit
Cleveland
St Louis incl Browns
Washington/Balt/Minn
NY Mets
Angels and Padres
Milw (Braves and Brewers)/Atlanta/Florida
Toronto
Montreal
Texas/Houston
Colorodo/Arizona

NeL I thought was too big, so I disallowed it

Inquiry

PostMon Sep 24, 2012 3:41 pm

I don't think I understand the draft rules.
Before I decide if I want to nab that last slot, how does the draft work?

If someone drafts ST. Louis for example, do they pick STL PRE for example and then they get STL Cardinals pre AND Browns pre? or do they get all of STL Cards pre only? or all STL of every ERA?

are Boston Beaneaters part of Boston?

NEL look to be disallowed.

What about ballparks?

Draft order and division?

please clarify

FWIW there are 81 distinct teams plus NEL when you browse the player set by team, but some of these have very few players in them (PHA post has only 2 players for example)

Good questions all, lets see if I do em all

You would draft say Detroit db or Chicago pre etc - then you would get every player carded to that set.

Bost or stL - you get everyone who played in that city - Only exception is NY because the Yanks are so big

If the set isn't big, the one mentioned has 2 players, then it may not be one you would want to draft.

NeL I thought was too big, so I disallowed it

Your ball park must come from one of the 2 sets you select.

Divisions are East = 1/4/7/10 etc

Draft order - I'll get someone not int he league to generate a random set of 12 numbers - 1st number is mine, 2nd is MrHarryC, 3rd is bontom etc

Sorry but I am withdrawing from the league at this time. I have not had the free time available lately to adequately familiarize myself with all of the individual team sets. I had hoped to use down time at work between calls to study and prepare but unfortunately work has become more busy than usual recently and I have not had that opportunity. Since this would be my first entry at the 80M level, I wanted to better prepare myself before the draft so that i could at least attempt to be competitive.

I am going to try to make time in the near future to better study the teams. If at that time there are still openings here i hope I can rejoin at that time.

Either way, good luck to all and thanks for the opportunity.
