I'm trying the Rockies current theory of SP 75 pitch count

I have 6 SP that I have all set to Quick Hook and I will not have a set rotation but instead just matchup vs the lineups day by day. I spent average $ on the bullpen. Tekulve and Clear are set to pitch a ton of innings out of the pen. I have a couple effective specialists and a good value closer.

This all freed a ton of money for my offense. I have good team speed, defense, decent power and OBP.

I have been waiting a while to try this and now with the credit sale i was willing to blow one on this. I just wish I could have landed Zane Smith for this theory. I really wanted a cheap Lefty SP that could get Lefties out. Other than that this is almost the exact roster I was shooting for.

Any predictions? I have no idea myself. I expect to hover around .500 but if Todd Worrell has a good season as a cheap closer I could be in the playoff hunt.

Being a Rockies fan, I'm curious how your team does. It would be even more interesting if SOM had a better game-to-game/strategic fatigue system.

Question: Will 11 pitchers be enough?

I've actually tested a 7-man rotation of mid-tier and cheap starting pitching. Each of the pitchers had a different strength and weakness. I would plug in my series rotations a few days in advance. I was in a HR park and had one pitcher who gave up a lot BP HRs, so I would only start him on the road when all possible. I had a pitcher who I used primarily against lefty lineups and 1 for righty lineups, etc. I had one guy who pitched primarily home games. Anyway, it took more effort but it worked fairly well. I got the most I could out of my cheap starters.
Good luck.
