We need more Cobb, Wagner, Speaker

Just nominated Honus' 05 card to the recent poll, please vote for him. For small ball teams we can't get enough of these guys. Cobb is frankly amazing -- he led the league in BA for 9 straight years, and would've led in 13 straight, except he just hit .370 in 1916 and lost out to Speaker at .386. Imagine this type of dominance today. I know we have 5 Cobb cards, but Mark McGwire has 6 (why?). Honus has just 3. Surely there are other interesting Cobb years to include ... Speaker (only 3!), too. :D

WOW !!!

How too true and appropriate HACKSTER...

I will vote for Honus for sure...

His best card offensively is his 7.68M$ version...

But his defense is atrocious... even at 1B...

We need more small ball diamonds...

All these guys should have 4/5 options. Wagner and speaker I rarely use I think a new card would be great for both

Think we need a different shortstop card for Wagner, that's what he was known for, after all.

It would be nice to have a reasonably priced SS card that did not involve a high injury risk.

Right now, all three Honus cards have a significant downside: high cost (11.04), high injury (9.01), great hitting but poor fielding (7.68).

Hack I’m going to apologize in advance because I’m going to attempt to hijack this post here …….

Andy started a similar post and he has a good list going also if some hall of famers that could use another card……….

https://forum-365.strat-o-matic.com/com ... aba83c82ad

I was trying to come up with some names when he started his post and I’m thinking this may be a nice spot for us to all spitball a few names So I’d like to add Todd Helton and Jeff Bagwell to this list

Helton we have his monster 2000 season where he hit .379 with 40+ hrs and was by far his best season and 2007 where he hit .320 but only had 17 hrs. I think any season from 2001-2004 would be a nice add for him.

Bagwell we have the very expensive 1994 card, and the 1996 card with great obp but not much power vs lefties, the 1999 or 2000 card I would recommend for him.

I think a good discussion on this could help get some good names for the next round of nominations.

I agree, I just posted the following on the other thread.

From baseball reference, Wagner had 60 errors in 145 games at SS in 1905. Compare that to 50 errors in 151 games in 1908, and 49 errors in 136 games for 1909. Safe to assume he'll be carded with at least 30 errors, probably 32 to 34?

I voted for the Dutchman. I nominated Noren. he'd be a great platoon add who fields and throws very well. please consider giving him your 15th vote 8-)
