You have to put these numbers from YF in context -- if you use Chuck Rainey and infinite number of times, he will eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare!

Seriously though, I've gotten some good performances out of both Acker and Atherton. Haven't tried the other 2 as much. I'll concur with Hak about Farmer. I've even gotten some real help from Sammy Stewart (though I guess he's in a different category)

I'm not sure they'd write Hamlet, or even win the Cy Young given enough chances, but they can be OK. If you just need to eat innings in blowouts then they can be OK. That is way 6 RP's seem to work well.

And Hak, shut up about Farmer.

Sorry YF, didn't mean to tread on raw nerves.

The crazy thing about Farmer in that league was that it was his '73 card, with something like a 4.97 ERA and he was lights out for me.

Maybe 83? and I too like to gamble on Ed late in the season when nothing works.

Nope, its '73. Why? I have no idea. Why go back that far for such a bad year. They had to be looking for a bad year.

I've seen Acker, Lynch and Kipper do well too.
