Here's a bit of an issue, see if you all can figure out what's wrong:

Where to begin?

Since you win no prizes, get no manager ratings, and really no fun, why make a team like this. Assuming someone has two teams in the same league - one to win and one to funnel.

The team's payroll is currently $24m. But the leftover money is $58m. Does not add up to $100m.

Someone actually picked up a win on that pitching staff? And a save was made in said game?

Greg Pryor has stolen four bases? In four attempts?

The Cubs aren't [i:d9adf82132][b:d9adf82132]that [/b:d9adf82132][/i:d9adf82132]bad of a team.

How did they ever get five save opportunities?

If you're going to blow a team on purpose, why use two extra roster spots on pitchers? Keep more of them fatigued.

Is there a suicide watch for Oil Can and Winfield?

I checked the transactions, the manager dumped the team after 9 games. And only added Boyd and Winfield 33 games later. Why bother? Did someone totally freak out after a 1-8 start?

Of course, maybe the manager realized that trying to beat you, doc x, 13 baseballs, and Grindi was impossible, and thought "screw this!" Even though the league is called "nocryinginbaseball."

I would not want to be the Red Crows though - the only team to lose to these guys...

You're right, it started out as a legit team.

This is his opening day boxscore:

Not to intentionally stir the pot, but look who's leading the West as chief beneficiary of this insanity:

I think this is really cool. It's 86 so why get bent out of shape on who wins the wild card? Will this team get one win in the next 100 games? I definitely think so. It's amazing to me that they've lost 50 in a row. In my leagues I've seen a lot of really bad pitchers have some good games so it seems he should win some of these 4-3 or 3-2 games.

from game 3:

'This was a tough loss,' said Robert Tuzzo, 'the kind that sticks with you for
awhile.'

I don't know about "chief beneficiary" . It's seems like the whole league has been benefiting, not just one team .

In one of my '86 leagues a team started the season at 0-23 with a legit team . Of course he made a ton of changes after about 0-12. Now he's like 25-60 ish .

plain old crazy

I have suspected for some time that certain gamers set up two teams in the same division(even though it is against the rules)for the purpose of having a doormat that they can beat every time they play! I hope I am wrong. And a few bad apples can not ruin this GREAT THING! But never the less there will always be those who break the rules. Especially when they can do it for no additional cost! But 1 win and 56 losses is just absurd. I have never seen anything like it! You would figure that since luck is invovled they would wi at least a few games. However maybe the managerial settings are all way out of wack!!

Isn't there supposed to be a rule against and possible being banished from playing for "Tanking" ?
