Suggestions for $1.04 in spare change?

Suggestions for $1.04 in spare change?

Missed some key pieces of my draft. Ended up with Camnitz instead of Pete. I've never used him; any numbers or experiences with him in Forbes? Division is Dunn, Riverfront, and Comiskey 59.

I'm thinking I have a lot of work to do with this club

Thanks,

Gregg

KEEP HIM!

Club doesn't look bad at all. I'd try to get Wagner for SS and get some arms in the pen. Another lefty bat or two would be nice.

Camnitz is the least of your worries. You are very short on obp; your best obp guy is mostly walks and runs 1-8, a very bad combo for your park. You are strongly weighted towards guys who hit lefties (although Valentine still gives you decent obp against right handers). And even in that park, you need SOME relief pitching.

Agree with Ed. Collins is a bust. Find a small ball style catcher (Schalk, Ruel, even Cochrane might help here), use cash for one closer (Martinez and RIchert are decent bets and might be available), then find the best OBP guy with wheels and trade in Dawson for him.

Already have a claim in for Richert. I have used Schalk, Ruel, and Cochrane before and all have been big busts for me. Especially Cochrane for the $$ I put in. I know I need to swap either Dawson or Valentine. What I like about them in Forbes is that they have enough natural HRs against LHP that the ball park doesn't hurt them much, and very little of their value against RHP is tied up in ball park HRs, so again, the park doesn't hurt them. Having both is redundant though. Then again, with a Dunn in the division, there will probably be a lot of LH pitching...I may hold both until after waivers and see who is available in CF and RF with OBP. Not sure about Simmons either. I tried to get Stargell to go between Dawson and Valentine, but had him too low I guess. I like Simmons a lot, but not sure in this park. Also not sure about Evers. I have used him before and he is OK, but Red is on the wire as well. I wanted to do something different with this team, but I think I tried too much, and then had a bad draft on top of it. Not sure where to go from here :?

Simmons will hit anywhere, don't get rid of him.

EVG is correct, Simmons is a hitter anywhere, and all 3 OF positions ain't bad either.

At 2b, I also like Red over Evers, as long as you expect a good avg, and an OBP not much higher. Good in the lower part of order to pick up the stray RBI in the 7 spot.

I would keep Evers and use the cash elsewhere.

Some good fits available from your FA list:

Wagner, Ozzie, Trammell  (How are all 3 of those available) :?:
Steinfeldt
McCosky

Go cheaper at C: some guys already mentioned are good. Mancuso isn't bad either.

Dayley would be nice in the pen also.

Keep Camnitz, unless you are playing in primarily (>80%) pitchers parks and there is a high value SP available such as McLain, Clemens, Sandy or Scott.

Keep Simmons, lots of work to do elsewhere. Not sure I like both Dawson and Ellis in the OF, maybe Flood, Geronimo or Snod in CF, keep Valentine.

Best of luck, sschu

Howie will do just fine , no worries there . I echo the previous with a call for Dawson to be exchanged . You still will need a pen . Baumgartner, Richert,Patterson, Horton, Osinski, Watt , Pattin to name a few who might be out there .
