Suggestions for $1.04 in spare change?

Guess I'll keep Camnitz :D Dawson is the hardest to replace. Slim pickings at CF. McCosky, Landis, Flood look like the best of what's left. Never used McCoskey because of his arm, nor Landis. Flood has been hit or miss for me. Any experience with any of them?

I did put in a claim for Richert. I think my pen will be OK with all 4 starters on slow hook and relief on conservative. How about Battey at C? He performs for me but he seems to get hurt more than the card would indicate.

A good catcher is Mancuso . He gets hurt though but most catchers do . McCoskey is doable even with his arm . Never used landis so no comment . Flood is good in the '69 game . LOL only have used him a few times in ATGII and he was ok , nothing good , nothing bad .

What the heck do I have to lose? I'll give it a shot. If I get all of my waivers, it will look like this:

C-Mancuso
1B-Judge
2B-Red
SS-Wills
3B-Pendleton
RF-Valentine
CF-McCoskey
LF-Simmons

Sp-Camnitz
Sp-Lemon
Sp-Dean
Sp-Coveleski

RP-Richert
RP-Morgan
RP-Wade
RP-Garman

I should have about 2.5M left which I would probably use to upgrade the bullpen. I may be able to come up with enough $$ for Konstanty. Can I win with this group, asuming I get them?

You need another RP or 2 in the pen, Konstanty is too expensive, split it up, Fosnow, Taylor, Lown or Hall types.

I don't like McCoskey in CF, help your pitchers, get a -3 arm minimum if available.

Better values than Covo, Derringer, Erskine or Lonborg are good options.

Nice team. Can you upgrade Pendleton to J. Collins? Definitely an improvement offensively.

I would also lose Pattin or Garman and get another non-starting SP. With all those horses in the starting rotatation, the pen won't be used as frequently so when it is, you want to maximize your decent relievers' innings. I would suggest dumping Garman, since HAL does not use the extreme L or R pitchers like he should.

You have three days, I would pick up Collins if he is available, dump Garman, and hope someone drops Hall/Taylor, etc. and upgrade Pattin/Wade, dropping back down to Pendleton.

I would also seriously consider dumping Mancuso for Gibson. Far better defense, 14 speed as opposed to the slug-like, base clogging 8, and will occasionally give a great offensive season. He usually gives me around .250-.280 BA with .320-350 OBP with the seldom, but often enough .300/.360 season. Great bargain catcher. I actually prefer him to Schalk.
Just checked a couple of my latest teams and here's what he's doing early in Griffith--

Tm G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA SLG OBP
GER 12 44 5 13 3 2 0 9 4 5 2 0 .296 .455 .354
Tm G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA SLG OBP
GER 23 84 9 27 6 3 2 12 3 14 0 0 .321 .536 .344

Early, yeh, but typical for him, in my experience.

Just some thoughts. :)

Team definitely looks better! Great job getting Garber; I never manage to get him.

Have to admit that I'm not a Wills fan; his defense isn't great (at least by ATG standards) and his obp is poor. Better Peckinpaugh for the obp, or Crosetti or the like for defense. Others feel differently, no doubt. :)

I'm with you Ed, but I thinking Mr. G. is liking the thrill of the SB. Hard to steal bases, though, if you can't get on base.

K, I swapped Mancuso for Gibson. Never tried him before. Also dropped Pattin for Sellers (I have a lot of luck using Garman). I'm up in the air on the Wills thing. I have never used him before, and I don't like the card that much. I'm also not a fan of stolen bases, especially with this player pool. But a while ago I read a real positive thread on Wills, so I thought I would try him. It wouldn't be tough to talk me out of dropping him. Cro is gone now, but Bush (a favorite of mine) and Peck are still there. But that would get expensive because then I would need a back-up as well.
