Newbie lineup feedback requested

Well, after taking my lumps with my previous attempts, I'm hoping that team #5 might do better. I've spent a lot of quality time with DiamondDope and this is what I've got with 10 hours to cut-off. I'm playing in Griffith with Wrigley '29, Olympic and Candlestick '62 in my division - 8 opposing LH starting pitchers and 5 right. Other teams in my league are Dunn twice, Griff, Sportsman's '34 and '46, Fenway '67, and Yankees '39 and '56.

I'm thinking of bolstering my pitching by switching Stanley for Landis, Fosnow for Richert, and adding Russo or Lanier instead of Hiller.

Any thoughts?

Hiller is a stud, keep him.
Your pitching staff is VG for that park--its the perfect park for Richert.
Keep Landis, unless you can somehow get DDiMaggio....

Your offense has 2 big holes:
1) You have six offensive starters who are 15 game injury risks. This is not good at all.
2) You have no slugger, which sometimes really helps with a lineup like this.

Suggestion: Look at possibly replacing Keller with an HR non-injury risk player. Or, if there is a good offensive/defensive CF available, move Landis and Keller to upgrade CF, especially if there are some of the bargain LF's available--Rose, Buford etc.

That's a very interesting team. Don't see a lot of FA options for improvement. Good luck.

I agree that injuries will probably be bug me all season. I'll take a look and see what the last minute transactions turn up.
