Purists by Salary League

We just finished the leagues based on ERAs and it was a blast.
So we wanted to try it by salary, which should be very competitve.

Basically you play the squad you pick.
If there is no player for a particular potision you may select a sub-$1mil player to fill.
If you need a back-up for a postion or your squad doesn't have 10 pitchers, you can select a .50center to fill.

This is a 4 league committment.
We'll use lotteries to determine your draft order (so select a state when you sign up - you'll keep the state for all 4 leagues and we'll use the lottery numbers from the last night of the prior leagues regular season).

Divisions are based on salary - highest 4 in east, lowest 4 in west.
No DH.

For the 1st round:
Eliminated both Yankee squads (too strong) and someone can pick any other squad as
their pick.

I'd play if you could fill out the rosters up to 80M with undrafted players. Othewise how is it fun to watch the Bklyn Dodgers beat up on say the Mets?

Surprisingly, the Dodgers as a team aren't much better than the '86 Mets.
Underperforming hitters vs pitching and good D I guess.

Join in and find out. They'd be in different divisions, so you could get into the playoffs and the Dodgers mightn't.

I might be interested, but I have a few questions. Do you switch to another team for each of the 4 leagues? Once a team is selected, is it gone forever, or can another player pick that same team for one of the other leagues? Do the leagues run at the same time (i.e. I would pick 4 teams all running in 4 different leagues at the same time), or do they run consecutively (one after another)?

Teams would be selected in the grouping they are in. The only exception is the 1st league, were 1 manager can pick any other listed team.

For the 1st League the teams to be selected are :

1929 PHA - - $76.02
1906 CHN - - $74.59
1909 PIT - - $73.65
1953 BKN - - $73.12
1956 NYY - - $71.57
1924 WAS - - $70.57
1929 CHN - - $70.20
1962 SF - - $69.64
1986 NYM - - $68.88
1990 OAK - - $68.03
1954 CLE - - $67.11
Any other team (except the '39 or '27 Yanks)

The leagues will run one after the other. We'll start the 2nd in the week after the last week of season 1 season.

The teams are selected in the sequence (high to low) of your lottery number.
A new lottery number will be used for every League. For this we will use the lottery numbers from the Friday night of the last scheduled games for the league in progress.

Hope this helps.
Any questions, please ask.

OK, why the heck not....It's not like a horrible season here will kill me, it will just keep making me more humble, and convince me that I know less about managing than I did a bunch of teams ago!
