I'M TEMPTED TO ......

Take a team that I believe is a sound smallball team and turn it into a "two fer nickel hurlers" type team.

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=78446

The league has 9 smallball parks, plus 2 Dunn's. Plenty of big bats sitting on the wire. Whaddya think? Do I trash this team and pick up 4 cheapo starters and try to outslug the other 9 smallball teams???

I know it's contrary to all that is sacred about Strat, but I'm also considering trading in Al Simmons for Ellis Valentine ........ :?

You have four of the pieces already in Morgan, Chance, Wagner and Simmons. You need some sluggers, Simmons could play CF which makes it easier, unless Joe D is on the wire.

What's available in CF, RF, 3B and C?

You also need to get some of the better cheapy SPs, Rommell, Speer, Loes, Wilks, Roe, Meyer, which you have a few. Meusel and to some extent Doby are excellent trade bait, so give it a go.

Best of luck, sschu

After watching your Griffith team with Gehrig night after night which I thought would be lucky to win 75 start out 35-13 I think you certainly can turn any team into a slugger team. Your insight into this strategy must be much more sound than I believe!

Thanks for the kudos Charlie. My team promptly went out and got swept last night! :(
