My current thought is that I would wait until last to pick my letter to give others their choice and help fill the league.

Im in, committed, just haven't had the time to fill out a new team with tweaking the b's who aren't b's in the league with genegrid and ames of the forgottens, plus a stray 2005 team that's 11-games under .500 but still roughly, annoyingly, I'm hovering 6-7-8 games out as the final trade deadline approaches, plus three 1969 teams, a 100m, an 80m, and the really annoying 60m variety. man that makes for some UGLY pitching, hitting, defense, and pointless, daily tinkering trying to disguise it! :twisted: I'm in, just not IN...

sschu says if he can combine D & P in to one group, he will sign up. This would give him 110 players, I believe. A large grouping, but M & S both have over a 100 players. Weigh in with your opinions. If you think this gives him an unfair advantage, say so. I haven't checked to see the QUALITY of players that pairing would give him. IMO, I'd like everyone to be able to field a good team, and it sure would be nice to get this league filled over the weekend! Speak up if you have any objections.

I believe when I tried to combine Y-O-P it was vetoed because that would give me too many players. I think the Y-O-P combo had less players than this D & P combo. That being said.....I really don't care what letters people take as long as we can get this league going the sooner the better.

The 80m cap will limit what owners can use anyway. You could have half the alphabet but you couldn't have all the best players on your roster due to salary cap restrictions.

bomber makes lucid and valid points...there are plenty of high quality b's I couldn't fit under cap, or were the 3rd, 4th or 5th option at a position. and also, since he's the one that suffered the earlier, perhaps errent veto, and doesn't have a problem with this, and sschu's on board if we let him, I say he's in. hey, isn't a d & p a uterus removal or something like that. may have to get larry's help on a name change on this one, because uterus removal was the name of MY team. oh, that's D & C isn't it...nevermind. :oops:

anyone have time to check a sample roster of d and p's to make sure we're not creating a monster here? I've got to run to a co-ed softball game (yeah sorry you northern and easterners, still playing in shirtsleeves out here in socal) otherwise I'll take a look later tonight, pst. happy to see the progress.

Now, I put this together real fast, and I'm sure sschu would put together a better team, but I think this is a good representation of a D & P team. Some real good players, but not earth shaking, IMO.

This would fit under the $80m cap. Weak at corner OF, 3b and DH no great shakes. Again, there are plenty of different players he could choose to make up his team, like Joe Dimaggio, but there will be a decline in performance at another position to do so. IMO, I don't think this combo is too powerful, given the other letters we have chosen. I say we give it to him. What say you all?
