My 1st '69 team

Our historical single season sets

My 1st '69 team

Postby Assmeriten » Sun Nov 06, 2005 8:17 pm

Tried for players who walk inte the AD. Got 4 of the 8 I wanted. Would have been 5 if I went for Bando instead of Santo. FA has begun. Non DH league. Any suggestions for this team.

Looks like the starting 8 are:
C Ferandez
1b Scott
2b Andrews
SS Rico
3b Robinson
LF Harper
CF Blair
RF Reggie

My park is Jarry and the others in division are Memorial, Fulton and Metro.

I know I have an overload of right handed hitters.

I always wondered what Ginger Lynn was doing these days! Now she was a real player back in the day. But back to baseball...

Your games are going to be very high scoring affairs. Your pitching will let up many runs but your offense should score a bunch as well. You really need another LH or S hitter. 8 RH and 1 LH? If you want to improve your pitching you could downgrade Fernandez at C to Roseboro or someone similar. You are paying over 6 bills for "slow man walking". I love your hitting. I am scared by your pitching. Who knows how it will turn out?

That is the fun of TSN SOM.

Latest FA move I just made:

You released Mike Andrews and added Dick McAuliffe.

Figured if I am going with a 2nd baseman who can get hurt for 15 games to go with the lefty bat. Not many options at catcher unless I go with Dietz.

What what it's worth, Fernandez has drawn 102 walks for me in 103 games. He's also scored 63 runs, which translates to 100 runs in a full season. Pretty nice number 2 hitter, with limited dps.

I'd hang on to him--with Rico, Reggie, Blair behind him, he's sure to score a ton.
