....my pitcher caught stealing or my opponent hving 2 out in the 9th, down by 1 with the bases loaded with the pitcher up and a full bench to pinch hit and the pitcher NOT being pinch hit for and driving in the winning runs. I actually kinda laughed.

That is just wrong ... why can't someone at SOM program an expert system that knows what the fluck to do?

I'm sorry, but this is the 21st Century. If they can't, they should offer to pay someone with computer skills and baseball knowledge.

It's insane ... and that one tops it off.

Maybe the computer knew the roll result before it happened.

Just to defend HAL a little bit, the pitcher caught stealing part is most likely a busted hit & run play, and the play-by-play doesn't catch that detail. I think HAL overuses H&R, but he's not trying to have the P actually steal a base there, so cut him a little slack.

On the no-pinch hitting for the P, obviously that's a bit bizzaro....

Good points qk...

As a side note any batter AFTER a really slow runner in my lineup, I always make sure H & R is unchecked.

He may be the best H & R guy in the world, but still I try and lower HAL's chances to screw up.
