How did these guys win 93?

Postby Cruiser » Sun Nov 20, 2005 9:28 am

My first '69 team, and they're in the playoffs. But I can't figure out how they did so well. 6th in runs scored, 7th in ERA, and a Pythagorean projection of 82-80. Yet they won 93 games.

Dumb luck? Did I just stumble on some great value players, such as Sparky Lyle?

Any comments or observations would be welcome.

the park you had helps out your pitchers but of course hurts your hitters.

Your bullpen performed really well. I have found that when bullpens do well and there are a lot of close games the Pythagorean projection is often a poor predictor of record. In fact so many of my teams have been over or under what the projections says I now totally ignore it.
