Try setting the high priced guys as setup and close. See if that helps. Also make sure their individual settings aren't too restrictive.

SOM rules indicate that when a RP is brought into the 3rd consecutive game, he comes into the game auto-fatigued and will continue to do so until he obtains at least 1 day of rest.
The CDROM version simulates this with a pitch count system of sorts. It takes the R rating and calculates that into an available pitch count indicator. If you look at the RP at the start of a CDROM game, it will astersik the RP with auto-fatigue. You can bring them into a game, but they will fatigue faster and have a lower avilable pitch count pool to start with.
In my years of playing SOM in TSN, I'm inclined to think the pitch count is not used and only teh Advanced RP fatigue rule.
