Tanking your league

Our historical single season sets

Postby LMBombers » Sun Mar 11, 2007 8:48 am

I am not in that league but I do know that my good buddy Pelzer has gone through with quitting TSN SOM. I have conversed with him via email since this and he told me that he got a quick response from TSN Customer Service when he asked to have his ID deleted which he thought was quite ironic.

I played in many, many leagues with Pelzer over the past couple of years. I don't understand how he can just quit because of one idiot but he is firm in his beliefs. TSN has lost an active player because of a lack of Customer Service.

I can tell new players that might be reading this that what happened in this league is extremely rare. I have been in more leagues than I can count and this has never happened to me. I have never experienced a tanker.

TSN SOM is a great game that I enjoy playing very much. Almost everyone who participates shares the baseball and SOM passion. The people at TSN are good people but can sometimes be hard to contact since there is only 1 or 2 people at TSN who's job is this online game. They dropped the ball in this instance.

This tanker team is 8-55!! Lets see.........11 other owners dished out either $20 or $25 to end up in this fiasco!!

Like Randy had said, this is very rare......but that is what's troubling. TSN should be able to react to these isolated incidents quickly!!! I won't be able to play against or chat with my buddy Larry anymore on these boards or in these leagues.
I feel like I just lost a friend.........who I admired and don't take lightly. If Randy (LMBombers), Doctax, C2, Errormagnate or any other of the guys I value get treated the same way and decide to leave........I will go as well.

TSN pissed me off back during the 2003 season when they turned on "normalization" without telling anyone (I suspect it was on during the 2002 season, as well, but they never admitted it). Many of my teams "folded" at the end of 2003 seasons because my power hitters stopped hitting HRs. TSN did turn "normalization" off, but I was still pissed that I had wasted lots of $$. I had been as much a part of this group as anyone until then, when I quit cold turkey.

The 69 season intrigued me enough to start playing again - there's only one player that's played more teams than I with the '69 version.

So I was all set to buy a five pack for the new 2007 set - even bought the ratings book. Not any more. I'm done again, all because of TSN's lack of response to this league.

It will happen again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well - I'm gone (again).

I've been gone from here for a while, but I looked you guys up and read your threads when I came back. I would hope you all get a free team for being stuck in this league. How easy would it be for them to take care of all of you compared to losing some of you for awhile. (some maybe for good) They either didn't get the message or someone made a poor decision.
This one is a no brainer!!!!

The tanking team now has a record of 9-84!!!!! Yes, 9 wins and 84 losses!! I'm sure that is really fair for the teams outside of this bozo's division!!! not!

I am in a $200M 2007 league where there are two team owners who are in collusion and are cheating to the max!! TSN is doing nothing about them either. It's my first public league I've been in for 2 years.....and I end up in a league with punks! LOL. Thank god for my friends on-line! My W-L % takes a beating.....but it's always fair and always fun. :D

In case anyone is interested, here's the standings of the subject league with one night of games left to play.

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/1969/league/standings.html

The wildcard will not come out of the Central Division where the .5 team resides.

After my high handed, holier than thou earlier post (shades of Penngray!), I now officially climb down from my high horse and apologize to TSN. Humbly (and not making any eye contact), I confess I might play again.

Your link needs to have the league number at the end instead of .html. What I get when using your link is the standings page to one of my leagues.

i had this happen to me twice. once in an 80s league and once in a 2003 league. the 80s season they gave us all a free credit. the 2003 league they did nothing. i avoid public leagues now for the most part and only get into leagues with familair names.

link didn't work for me either.
