69 LIVE DRAFT - 80 Mil w/ DH - FULL !

Our historical single season sets

He won the real-life batting title in 1970. Missed all of 1968 with tuberculosis, missed all of 1971 with a knee injury.

He's also got a 2 injury roll, which doesn't seem a big deal until you realize no one in this league is worse than a 3. Even that can be okay (Eric Chavez was a 3 injury roll in the Iron Range League, and he played 153 games), but it is a consideration.

Just one of the guys I was hoping to sneak by

I used Fregosi on my only 69 team in Yankee.
613 86 26 14 57 92 4 25 .228 .352 .326
Not pathetic, but lesser players did as well or better. Top ten in walks though, but his clutch is awful if I remember correctly.

Not a lot of singles falling in Yankee Stadium, at least in 1969, and not much better for HRs....I won't be happy with that production, but I won't be in Yankee Stadium either, even with Big Bad Boog. Following links to a few other league teams, I did find one other Fergosi season: He hit .260, .368 OBA, 20 HR in Fulton Country Stadium. Don't think I'll be playing there, either.

Heading out for the rest of the night -- first Christmas party of the season. I've left a bunch of proxies, hope to come home to see progress made.

The Toy Cannon

Postby durantjerry » Sat Dec 03, 2005 6:51 pm

What do you guys think of the Toy Cannon. In the only league I played in, he hit 41 HR, was second in RC(10.5) to McCovey and had 191 walks. CF seems like a relatively plentiful position, but I couldn't resist with my third pick.

Dang, Joe Mic ruined my Saturday with that Carty pick :( I was toying with the idea of taking him 1st or 2nd...but with so many good bats out there, I thought he'd last until the 3rd. Guess not :(

BTW, he won a batting title for me on my 1st team '69 team, also a DH league.

Another morning, another player I'd hoped would be left on the board gone (in this case Reggie Smith -- not a painful loss, but still a good player).

Hoping to get through a few more rounds today. Al and I are having brunch with our families later this morning, so if the picks stall out there, you know why.
