Amazing Petco Line-up

Amazing Petco Line-up

Postby Chuckul » Tue Aug 23, 2005 12:28 pm

Check this out... Here is a petco team that drafted for me last night. Wow... I got just about everybody I wanted, except some of the big bench players. Can't imagine getting all these players in a vet league.

C I-Rod
1b Casey
2b Loretta
3b Mora
SS Isturis
RF Suzuki
CF Kotsay
LF Newhan

I'd like to find an inexpensive option for lf so I could dh Newhan but wow... My pitching staff is totally suited for Petco as well. Here is the link... http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/team/team_other.html?user_id=15244

But we KNOW you as ChuckUL, so we'll all pretend

BTW - nice work. If you're looking for a cheap LF alternative, there is always E. Young/K. Robinson. Speed and OBP for less than $2M. A little more expensive is Magruder/Bigbie.

Hey Hot Rod, our Petco teams are in the playoffs right now in another league (though if swept tonight I might be eliminated by the time you read this).

That's a fine-looking Petco team. Love those cheapie SP. Three thoughts...

Very careful where you bat Casey and IRod. GBA city. Can be murder, especially in a pitcher's park.

A non-BPHR dependent banger in the mix would help.

More heavy clutch down in the order (5-6-7) wouldn't hurt.

Have fun. Keep us posted.

Would you believe that somebody actually DUMPED Carlos Zambrano?!! Well it happened and thankfully I was right there after waivers to pick him up. I love this pickup because Zambrano is barely ballpark effected so he'll pitch well when I'm away too. I picked up a few more value guys but I'm not entirely sure which ones I want to keep. Some guys swear on Grinke but all those hr's scare the hell out of me. Any other options that people have used in that 1.5-3 million dollar range? Oh and I was able to get cattalanatto (sp?) for my dh with Sanchez. Playing newhan in left is not my first choice but what can you do.

Cheap pitchers

Paul Byrd has done ok for me as a 5th pitcher. Heavy toward lefties though.

Need to get a win with those current starters though!!!!!!!!!
