In a surprise move made today - the Montreal Eagles traded away their starting 1B, Orlando Cepeda, to the Hillsboro Hummers for Bill Terry. Cepeda, who was leading the team in HR, was said to be shocked by the move.

Eagles management had no comment except to say that Cepeda had disappointed as of late, and that further moves were coming in order to attempt to waken up a team that had been sleepwalking since the beginning of the season.

5 Days later - the moves come to mixed reviews. Terry has been terryble. :roll: while Agee has been as ageebly bad :roll: ... however Lee Meadows is solid improvement over Marquand! Thanks to last nights sweep my squad has actually gone 8-7 over the past 5 days. :)

Am actually over .500 at home - and hopefully Terry & Agee will improve to something close to mediocre - so things could be looking up! :)

Well it definitely looks like I am going to get the #1 pick this time around - my first time I think, though I have come close in the past ... guess it is time for an overhaul & a new look.

I am 0-9 against the Savoy Specials this season - never been so snakebitten versus an opponent in a while - nice to see I am singlehandedly helping dr. x to the best record in the league. :P

Well I earned a sweep against the Specials recently so that was nice - have gone 7-2 in my past nine, but before that went 3-9, so my team definitely needs to play more consistently ... preferably consistently good. ;)

I have to say that there have been very few strong performances by any of my players this season ... no one has really played horribly, but most of them are underperforming (to my expectations).

I am going to be on vacation pretty much from July 3rd-9th, so when I get back is probably when I'll make final changes - feel free to send offers during that period and I'll look at them when I get back - no player is untouchable.

My team continues to muddle along, at times giving me hope, then crashing back to earth. I did not think this team would do this poorly but making changes in midstream probably didn't help, and a lack of focus at the start was probably fatal. Oh, well, live and learn.

We will continue to try and win every game the rest of the way, however.

I am back from a weeks vacation, and am getting ready to revamp my squad. ALL players are available ... some players like Cuyler may come with a higher price tag, but no player is unavailable - so if you're interested in someone then make an offer today or tomorrow before I give the axe to many of my players!

Bowa is one of my favourite cheap SSs so I was not likely to cut him, but the other players were all on the chopping block ...

It has been a while since I've used Clemente or Roebuck, and I do not think I have ever used Hickman or Chapman.

Will be interesting to see how this affects MM's team chemistry - certainly cannot hurt mine! :roll:
