I'm sure you're right, Splinter...I just can't bring myself to play those 5s or 3s in the middle...when I last played the board game, the worst rating was 4. I can't even imagine what the 5 column looks like on the x-chart![/quote:ac0dd6bce1]

Adds 2 more hits for an infielder so it's 1-8. I don't remember the DBs off of the top of my head, but I don't think there are many.

And altho I have had decent luck with German, Theriot or Abreu - I am considering using Utley at Safeco as my LH DH vs RHP and at 2B vs LHP in the leadoff spot and using Amezaga at 2B vs the right side.

For 5.64 he gives me good OB, enuf speed and covers 2 positions as a backup(1B/2B) - Plus he gives me good power vs the right side - Where I might bat him in the 2 spot.

i had been doing the same thing with German at 2B - fo 1M more in cap minus the power.

Personally think Reyes OBP is too low for a leadoff hitter.

I find he is a difficult guy in a lineup, not alot of OBP, not alot of pop, decent average and great speed...where do you put a guy like that!?? I have him on a current team in Co America playing with ichiro, carroll, rolen, vlad, manny, loduca, and laroche, and am batting him 8th vs lhp and 9th vs rhp....just can't see where he works well in a lineup :?

Of course i suck at lineups...maybe that's the problem! :)

In the right park he can hit a surprising number of XBH...

Definately not a leadoff hitter.

Damon rarely disappoints. I'm using Choo, who is like a mini Sizemore (for 1/10 the cost) and he's scoring pretty well.

I use Mackowiak vs RH, very good price, and can hit #2 as well due to high BA. Slightly better D & OBP vs RH than Choo, less XBH.

Depending on the team, I would be likely to bat Reyes fifth, especially in a pitcher's park. He has a good ability to drive in runs with his average, XBH and his slightly positive clutch. If he bats in the first inning, he is very likely to be in an RBI situation (and one which doesn't require driving in a runner from first). If he leads off the second, he has some small-ball lead-off skills, minus the OBP. There are only two innings you can have any control of with your lineup, the first (obviously) and to a much lesser degree the second. The fifth spot leads off the second a very high percentage of the time, so I like to have a guy there with some leadoff skills. If Reyes gets on there's a pretty good chance he'll get to second or third with his stealing and XBH and the bottom of your lineup is most likely not that great at driving anybody home from first, so fifth makes some sense to me.
