$200 million 25 man keeper league. We're FULL...FINALLY

Postby fowldawg » Wed Sep 05, 2007 5:55 am

I agree Kev is good to have in the league. I just want to get this extra pick thing taken care of. Maybe Im wrong but I think Frank was being sarcastic in suggesting DiNardo be the scrub. I know for one I would draft him somewhere in the 480 picks that are going to be made... He has now been eliminated from the draft. I just think if that is the scrub we should make it someone like Chris Widger who no one will pick, if he's not the scrub do the cuddyer pick and lets all get on level terms

I was being sarcastic with the Lenny Dinardo pick. If Kev just takes Eric Mr. HBP Reed, I don't think we will have a problem. But lets leave that up to the Commish.

I think the draft's been moving along ok. A couple hangups that could/should have been skipped, but for the most part it's been ok, especitally considering we had Labor Day weekend smack in the middle of it.

I agree, if you're not gonna be available, you need to set proxies. HOWEVER, remember not to get too carried away when people are using their actual allotted time. Afterall, if we all just set tons of proxies, it's just an autodraft.

A lot of great managers in this league, let's not get too pissy with each other. :D

And by the way, Kev is the last person I'd accuse of trying to take advantage of a miscue. Dinardo's the worst pitcher in the 07 set, which is probably why he took him (and it made sense to me), but had forgotten that he somehow has pulled together a decent season this year with Oakland

So let's get this draft flowing today!! :)

Sorry again guys. I did take Dinardo as a joke and did forget he was competent in '07. I accidentally made a pretty good pick when I meant to take the worst $.50M pick for '06. I can't get it right no matter what I do!!

Fowldawg, you are "not" out of line! You have a right to be concerned. I've honestly been very distracted the past few days. In the interest of making sure the draft moves along, I've been rushing my decisions in this league. I'm sure it will come back to haunt me down the road. The Beltran drop is still a mystery. I've never dropped a player....ever.

I decided to drop my last pick....Cuddyer.....even though he is a fellow Minnesotan. Now that I know how the drop function works, I believe my next pick will fall into Cuddyer's vacant spot. I'll take Widger. It wouldn't surprise me to see the draft system blow up as I don't think Widger has ever been selected!!

kev-- if you would like to keep cuddyer and drop dinardo (for widger) I would understand. I want to draft cuddyer and you do have first dibs on him if indeed Dinardo was your throwaway. Let me know before I draft and then we can commence.

Im going to take Cuddyer, and if you decide you want him Kev I will drop and repick. On your next pick you will need to pick twice. One for the player you want and the second take Widger to fill the empty spot.

Nice job solving this on your own here guys...

DiNardo would not have been a good P/U.

Gentlemen...Most of us have been guilty of taking too long with our picks.
I apologize for my tardiness.

I get tied up @ work and think the draft won't get back to me and the next thing you know it has and I'm too busy to pick. Sorry for holding things up.

I have set proxies for my next 2 picks.

If you can, please do so as well. If you need help setting proxies, just ask.

We are 8 days into this draft. This is counting a weekend AND a holiday. Yet we are almost 20 picks in. We are on a pace that I kinda figured we would be. Hopefully we can finish this draft in the next 6 days to make it a 40 man draft done in 2 weeks time. That wouldn't be too bad now would it?

I've been part of 26 round on Penn's site that took 3 days.... so it depends on your point of view.

The point of using that site IS THE PROXIES. when people don't use them, why even bother using the site, why not just use the boards.....

Wow, I agree...I take back my post from earlier. We've been stuck on 6 picks for the day for the last 3 1/2 hours...

The weekend delays are one thing, but geez, if you KNOW you're gonna be out of touch, you have to leave proxies... :?

What is the protocol? Is there an official time limit for picks? Do I manually skip the pick for Irish Joe? Give me some help guys!
