Anyone have some numbers on him ? I searched these boards and there isn't much about Sam . His card looks good and Dodgers 77 diamonddope says good !

Sam's a good hitter with good speed. He just gets overshadowed by the many better defensive/offensive CFs. I've used him with good results; several times as a DH, once at 1b (ugh), and even in CF. His +1 arm hurts a little, but he'll put up good, just not spectacular, numbers.
Here's a season I had from Sam, playing CF all year, in Busch '87:
Crawford, S. AB 595 R 85 2b 35 HR 14 RBI 94 BB 42 SB 22
E 15 AVG .301 SLG% .474 OB% .350.
Team won the division, but was eliminated in the semis. If I had more time, I'd look up other seasons, but I have so many teams to look through to find the few times I've used him. Again, I think he's a decent to very good player. :)

Check out this monster season from Sam in Dunn in a normal $80 league:
584 77 43 11 73 58 19 13 .355 .529 .410
I also won a title with an ATG I pitching team that Sam started on in CF. A very good 6-7 hitter in a hitting park with his clutch and extra base power. I think those are the only two times I used him.

Make that a good 6-7 hitter in a pitching park.
