Attention Bernie: Manager Stratagy Settings

I have Pete Rose set up to leave the game for defensive replacement (Bridges). When Bridges has been or is in the game, Hal uses John Roseboro as the defensive replacement for Rose. What's up with that? Quite often Hal uses Bridges as my 1st pinch hitter in a game, when I have two other players assigned that role. Again what's up with that? :(

Do you have Bridges listed as a PH in the Manager Settings as well as defensive replacement at 3B? If so HAL can only do one of these things typically. I would uncheck "replace with defensive replacement" on Rose's card and simply list Bridges as the defensive replacement at 3B. That way Bridges will fill in at 3B late in the game if he has not already been used.

if you have a player checked as "remove for def sub" it will remove him, whether or not there is a better def player out there for them.

It's best to do what LMB said.

BTW, why remove Rose? He's a 3e16, that's not bad, albeit not great, 3b gets the 2nd lowest number of X chances?
