[quote:563ab2bbd7="kenhutchings"][quote:563ab2bbd7="Risden"]Your pick # 66 (Gary Gentry) has been wiped away. The pick is gone; left blank on the various lists. Do you have intentions on keeping Gentry?

I think that I can remove Gentry from the pool of players as an administrator so that nobody accidentally drafts him. Do you know what happened to Gentry?

Please advise. Thanks![/quote:563ab2bbd7]

I just noticed that, too, and I was going to post "Houston, we have a problem." At the time I originally drafted Gentry, I was being wishy-washy and clicked on the Drop shortly after I selected him, only he didn't drop at the time. It appears that it must have been a very delayed reaction on the part of the drafting program, as I eventually decided that I would keep him after all, and didn't make any other attempts to drop him.

It is my intention to retain Gentry, so if you can arrange to remove him from the pool of players I would greatly appreciate it.

Muchas gracias.

Ken

DONE! Somebody check my work, but I believe that Gary Gentry is now excluded from the available player pool. Ken needs to remember that he has Gentry when it is time to load the autodraft.

Thanks once again. Sorry to have caused any confusion. I recently had a 70s game credit switched to 1969, so I'll start using that to put together my roster (including Gentry), so that I keep within the salary cap. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea for all of the managers to do this. We're just beginning round 8, and some teams have already spent close to or over $50 M on their players.

I hope nobody, especially John E, thought I was complaining. I was just concerned that the draft site appeared to skip his pick and wanted to make sure everything was ok. If I gave the impression that I was complaining I apologize.

I agree, we weren't supposed to start until the 14th and we are almost halfway done. That is incredible progress!!

I just recently selected Rich Reese for Round 8 (#90), but after I selected him he was placed in #66, where Gentry formerly was. I'll check back in about two and a half hours, but it may well be that the program will be waiting for me to select #90, and if that is so, I'd like Gentry unprotected so that I can get him back on my team.

I noticed that. Unfortunately, the tool will not let me "unprotect" Gentry.

I would suggest that you pick a player that nobody will want for your current (# 90) slot. I suggest Jack Hamilton of the White Sox - he has the highest WHIP in the 1969 catalog and I have NEVER seen him used in any league. This will keep the draft rolling along.

Please advise when that pick is made and we will move on... 8-)

Ken - Risden is correct. Select Jack Hamilton. You can then put Gentry on your draft list and everything will be fine! I almost posted the same sentiment from PM770. He was not upset with Jeigenauer, just had a concern about the draft site. As I said before, we are in no hurry to complete this draft and start the league. I will admit though, I do check the draft site more often than I should!

Before I checked back on the message board, I was thinking along the same lines as drafting someone as a fill-in, but I was leaning towards Vida Blue. Anyway, I took your suggestion and drafted Jack Hamilton.

Before he beaned Tony Conigliaro, I guess it was Hamilton's tendency to pitch close to batters, and that was what made him effective. Afterwards he was understandably hesitant about pitching batters close, and thus lost much of his effectiveness.

Now let's get this draft back on the road!!

RISDEN - You dirty dog! I had two proxies set and you got them both (Francona + Horton)! Back to the drawing board.
