If you look at etdefender's last post he says that he is going to pass on his last pick. Once AF Dickie picks the free agent draft will be over.

I think that they don't want to be tied down to having to put them on their draft sheets which could limit them on some other players that they are competing against other teams for. They probably figure that the same free agents will be there after the autodraft. I would rather lock up 3 players now and swap 'em out if needed later myself. Then again maybe their teams are stacked and they don't need anyone else. :shock:

There are no other Boston catchers out there, so either I draft my 2 at a high price, or I draft another FA. I was after Inge, but somebody beat me to him.

I am still at a dilema there.

You will have to draft both Mirabelli and Varitek if you didn't pick a FA catcher. If you want you can then drop one and pick up a FA backup as long as you only have 3 legal "non-franchise" players. Too bad Hatteberg gave up the catching gear in Oakland. He used to be a Bosox catcher.

I agree with LMBombers. Everyone must autodraft the three (or two) free agents they picked in the livedraft. If you are in budget trouble, just leave one of your exclusive franchise players off your autodraft, and pick him up in waivers or after waivers. During the pre-season you can dump or pick up franchise players and un-attached free agents, as long as you do not has more than three free agents at any time.

For example, I am doubting whether I am going to keep Todd Helton for Opening Day (trade bait?). I might end up dropping him for a less expensive free agent. However, I need to put him on my autodraft. To free up the cash for the autodraft, I might leave Johan Santana off my autodraft, and pick him up in the pre-season.
