I am willing to give up Feb. prefer not to, but do need to know other rules we will go by because first try at drafting team came out to 91 million without dh so either way I have some work to do.

I think we were considering trades post-draft. Since it seems that all months can draft competitive teams, I think we should have a reserve clause system (apologizes to Curt Flood) under which the players for each month belong to the owner of that month, who can trade the rights to the players. How does everyone else feel about this?

As for your comment about trying to put together a $100 million team, that is the key issue with this league. You may have a great roster of players to choose from, but it will be hard keeping within your budget.

I believe we should say no trades...with trades a team could conceivably have the majority of roster players not born in the month selected. I also believe trading will give the stronger months (and I still believe there are stronger months) even more of an advantage.

More than one person has suggested that each month can field a competitive team. Why then do we need to trade?

I tend to agree with you. I like the idea of fielding an entire team from one month. Checking out the months, it appears that they each have a hole at one position, the starting rotation and/or the bullpen. For example, with September (the month I selected), one corner outfield spot is solid (Keller) while the other is weak and will most likely be filled by a player not often used in ATGII (Elmer Smith, Coleman, Lou Johnson, McCormick, Rudi or Cromartie). I think this adds to the game and requires better managerial decison making. While I don't plan to make trades (only making roster moves within my month), my thinking was that I didn't have a problem with others making trades, and didn't want to limit the people interested in this league over this issue.

What's the sense of having a pool of players for your month and then trading them away for differnet players. You loose the idea of the theme.
