Need 5 to start '86 league w/ swell group of guys

Our historical single season sets

LOL

Sarge kicks it off with a keeper!

I've invited a couple more guys who've played with us in the past -- Paul Gough the Hollywood Reporter guy and big BoSox fan says he'll be in, Curt asked Bruce Calkins, who played with us alot when we started, and I contacted a guy at my office named Jason Clinksdale who doubles as a freelance sportswriter and really knows his sh!t about baseball and football. We'll see if any of them get on board, but if they do and the rest of the list pans out, we'll be full in no time.

Right now: 5 down, 7 to go.

AND the 2007 season just dropped!!!

Oy. You'd think they could have worked the timing on this a bit better.

For this, I'd like to continue as in years past: First go round, $100MM budget, DH, mixed league. Should we start a separate thread for this? I'm so confused.....

It's been a couple of week ssince the last time I was in on the first league of the season, but hey, I've got a salary again and a free play...

All of that sounds good to me.

Jason Clinkscales here... so is it a safe bet that there [i:8533f5bd52]won't[/i:8533f5bd52] be any Tampa Bay Rays in this league?

I suggest editing the name of the thread to:

"Five More Needed for 1986 League"

Looks like somebody was in and then dropped out....dunno otherwise how Sarge dropped to bottom of the central with an [i:9944e8eb24]empty[/i:9944e8eb24] in the middle.

Nope, no Devil Rays Jason (Uptown Mastermind! Niiiiiice). No Rockies either.

FURTHERMORE: 2008 Season signup

Postby TomSiebert » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:36 am

Meanwhile --

I've started a thread for a new season with the 2007 player cards in the main StratOMatic board.

We'll follow the usual season opener rules:

AL/NL Player Mix
$100MM Salary Cap
DH
5-10-20 Rule on Drops
Live Draft of 15 Rounds, Autodraft remaining 10

We won't be able to start until after Al is back from Vacation, but that puts us on a trajectory to begin the week of the real baseball season, which is how it's actually worked the past couple years as well. I'm in L.A. that week on business (and pleasure!), but should be able to keep up with my proxies.

Here's the link for the new season, whoever wants to sign up.

http://forums.sportingnews.com/viewtopic.php?p=3107710

Anyone in this league is welcome to join us for the 08 season. For the newbies, the draft process will be slightly more complex, but a lot more fun and fair.

I sent an e-mail invite to Buzman1955. He seems to have three teams in a County B League that has the same rules as ours.

I got up this morning to start scouting for the same thing. I suspect the new teams that have dropped are commanding the attention of most of our would-be players. Otherwise, Jason Clinksdale hasn't figured out how to get into our league -- he set up a team for a live draft and doesn't know how to switch over.

At this point, the focus should be on getting the draft run by Friday night, so we can kick off the season Monday.

I'm in Orlando through Friday night, with sporadic email access. If others work to spearhead this effort, I'd appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I will be out of commission on vacation Sunday night and Monday, so I really hope we can get this run by Thursday night, with a Saturday night waiver wire.

Perhaps details of the league would be better marketing than "swell guys": Five Needed for $80M, DH, Autodraft '86 League
