Ack! What is this noob doing wrong?

My team scores runs (leads league), steals bases (leads league) and my starters are doing a decent job (#4 in league with 3.46 ERA and #2 in CG), but I keep getting punished in one run games and RH pitching (overall record now 13-17). The team doesn't allow a bunch of steals (11-8) and isn't making a lot of errors.

My relief tandem of Williams and Smith has been up and down (the inconsistency drives me crazy). I have each of them as setup / close for left (Smith) and right (Williams). I've basically locked up all the other scrubs with mop up duty, etc and so they aren't getting any innings (thus don't hurt me with their 1.30+ WHIPs) I'm using Tommy J as relief only. Did I pick a bad stadium (Fulton County)? We're 30 games in...maybe this is typical? Any help / advice to get over the hump would be greatly appreciated.

My lineup against RH (LH is very similar except I move Roenicke 5L way up and slot Baylor down a couple)

1) O Smith
2) B Doran
3) P OBrien
4) D Baylor
5) K Gibson
6) K Oberkfell
7) J Beniquez
8) J Davis
9) R Roenicke

It's probably just bad rolls in key moments . You can only hope that it will even itself out over the course of the season on losing the close ones .

By looking closer, your probably lucky to have what you have with your pen . You don't really have the right guys holding down the other team at critical times . I would use Williams strictly as a closer . Avoid blowout , 1-2 max, 8th inning. Smith is not going to improve at your ballpark in my opinion. Williams is your only "good " RP .

Read the " how to read a strat card " on both pitcher and hitters cards . Your going to get beat up with the ballpark effect hr's (#) from the pen . I try to NEVER get RP who have natural hr's on their cards and you have 2 with then plus your ballpark effect hr's are not in good places with most but Williams , who has none at all . I always try to get RP ,who if they have #'s, are in the 2 or 12 spot or not at all .

Patience Grasshopper... :)

O'Brien, Oberkfell, and Doran are off to real bad starts, but they will come around. You might think about trading Dave Smith. His #s will turn into Homeruns 65% of the time at your park. That's not what you want for a guy who you have set to pitch a lot of late innings. He will do much better in a pitchers park, so hopefully you can find some interest.
