I started strat in January and these resources that I found useful:
(1) There is a message thread on strat-strategy. The "Newbie" topic has good advice to helps to avoid some basic pitfalls.
(2) The strat community is pretty good at offering all sorts of advice if you ask
(3) Diamond Dope (www.diamonddope.com) provides some rather in-depth analysis of the strat cards and strat match-ups. The card reader part of this website was my first stop, and it has been a real time saver in terms of getting a handle on reading strat cards.
(4) The free offer (expires Tuesday) is a great chance to get some experience.
(5) You may want to look at leagues that have been played.
Once in a league, you can learn from what other teams are doing.
Before you have a league, you can go to the records section. You can explore the leagues where teams set records for wins and such (and the teams that got beat up by the record setters). I found that instructive.
You can also see links to leagues in the message boards, where a question about a team is being asked, or memories of league experience are being exchanged.
