Perplexed about my new Shea team...

I understand but couldn't you still take him for his D and remember that there are probably a good number of hitter's parks in the league where you will need to win?

Win at home 1st.

Not saying Beltre is a bad choice. It's just about where you spend your money.

General rule for slanted parks - power from the park strong side - BA & OB from the weak side. Mora has better OB.

or if OB and BA are NOT available from the weak side, natural power is ALWAYS nice.

like my man Glaus @ 3B.

Stoney, I see what you're saying but whether you win at home or on the road...the goal is to win, right? You play half your games at home...but the other half on the road. If you have a heavy hitter's league it would seem that you get the best hitter...whether or not he's suited to your park. Wouldn't you want to have a hitter who kills the ball in 8 or 9 parks vs. a hitter who can only kill the ball in your park?

Ideally, you'd be right. But I am thinking along the lines of if someone is in a heavy hitter's park league.

Oh yeah...I have Glaus on another Petco team. :D

I agree that you need to look at the other parks in the league.

In this case though I would still take Mora & $3 million over Beltre. Mora will still help you in the other parks and you have $$ to improve other areas.

Well...dropped bocachica and added Werth, giving me power vs lefties from the right side...does that look better? Will have to lead off abreu vs lefties.... :)

I think that looks a bit better Mike. Werth could make the hard lefty SP pay, with the natural HR's...
