The Phillies are in 3rd place with 3 games left to play, 2.5 games behind the Mets and 1.5 behind the Cardinals (both of whom who have 4 remaining games). It'll take more than a bit of good fortune for Philadelphia to take the division title, but as long as it's mathematically possible, we're staying tuned.

The Mets' and Cardinals' wins were also decided by just 1 run each - the Mets' led by a gem by Sid Fernandez (10-11), and [b:69cd47fab8]the Cards' driven by EIGHT stolen bases[/b:69cd47fab8] - four by Vince Coleman.

[b:69cd47fab8]In the AL East, the Yankees[/b:69cd47fab8] landed a fierce uppercut to the jaw of the Tigers, roughing up the Blue Jays, 9-3 and [b:69cd47fab8]taking a 1 game lead over Detroit[/b:69cd47fab8], who rallied dramatically in the 9th off of Brewers closer Mark Clear but eventually lost the game in the 10th, 4-3.

[b:69cd47fab8]And in the NL West,[/b:69cd47fab8] both the Astros (1st place) and the Padres (2nd place, 1.5 back) won their games as the finish line rushes ever closer.
