My first ATGII team--Bobbing Back to the Surface....

Postby Outta Leftfield » Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:41 pm

I went ahead and switched to the Walling / Wera platoon, especially since it freed up enough cash so that I could upgrade to Rudy York at 1B--which I'd been trying to find the cash to do. I just barely got the changes in before the 10PM deadline, and I'm not sure if my lineup changes made it. If they didn't, it will be interesting to see what kind of scrambled eggs HAL serves me for a lineup in my first series. :D

Thanks again, all, for the great help. Now we'll have to see how the team plays.

After a Terrible Start....

Postby Outta Leftfield » Fri Feb 03, 2006 3:50 pm

After a terrible 7-14 start, my first team seems to be bobbing back to the surface. It's now 16-17, so has gone 9-3 in the past 12 games. It looks like I'm at still least in the wildcard race. There are a bunch of teams packed together at around .500 who are the other contenders.

One thing that surprises me is that, despite its early struggles, the team is actually leading the league in runs scored. If the pitching comes around a bit more--as it has been lately-- and if Rickey starts hitting up to expectations, I might still have a chance to contend.

Regarding some suggestions above:
The Walling / Wert platoon has been great.
Milt May has been killing the ball--or was until he went down for a long injury.
Buhl got off to a terrible start but has pitched well in his last three outings.

Does anyone have any suggestions for lineup tweaking, etc?
