A way to help out our brothers and sisters in New Orleans

Friends:

Yes, a blast from the past. Yes I'm back to torment you all...

Seriously, I just wanted to announce that from this day forward, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of my CD "City of Rhythm" (minus a couple sheckels that Paypal will get:x ) will be contributed to the New Orleans Musicians Healthcare Emergency Fund. This organization, in normal times, provides healthcare and assistance to the vast majority that don't have insurance. This fund will be used to assist with relocation for now homeless musicians and to help purchase new instruments for those who had their's destroyed in the storm and aftermath.

Here is my Website www.dougbickel.com. Thanks in advance for helping out.

If you don't feel like buying my CD you can contribute directly to this fund by sending money to:

Healthcare for Musicians
103 Independence Blvd.
Lafayette, LA 70506

Thanks for your attention.

Doug, I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you came through it. Glad to see you have made it somewhere with electricity anyway.

Just to clarify...

...I no longer live in New Orleans. I have been majorly negligent in updating my Website to reflect that.

I have heard from an increasing number of my friends and colleagues down there, but there's still a handful unaccounted for. The networking going on has been incredible.

Good to hear that you are ok. I too was just thinking about you and wondering if you still were in the New Orleans area.
Glad to have you back.
