League is a mixed bag, alot of neutral parks, not too many extreme pitchers parks.

I really like the looks of this team, but would love to hear from others.

My .02 cents

I like Wagners' obp, but not the errors followed by 2 and 3 run homers you might see in your park, not to mention the injuries.

Rice is overkill at Catcher. I've done the May/Rice platoon and you'll get similar numbers from just May. If you really want to platoon May, get Crandall for his better D and arm, (you might need that against certain teams) and he still has some good pop too.

I like the starters, not the pen (I do like Klinger here). Because of that reason I'd trade some O for a deeper and more consistent pen. Beggs and Staley, A.K.A. Hot and Cold could be replaced by very solid guys....

So I'd consider losing Rice for a decent back-up like Garagiola. Swapping Wagner for Crosetti and turning those $$$ to the pen.

I'd swap out Beggs and Staley (I've had bad luck with both though I know some like them) for Konstanty and Schultz. (Solid, I've had very good experiences with them.)

Very nice righty/lefty mix of hitters too.

Gehringer at the top and then Dial 8 (til Crosetti, lol)

PS. If you love Beggs/Staley disregard the above and yes I really like the team. :)

A few thoughts.

I agree with Nev about Rice and May.

I would probably get rid of Wagner also for similar reasons.

I think your choice of relievers is a good one. Wouldn't get Konstanty for your park. I might try to get Schultz or Eckersely as an upgrade on Dayley with the money you save dumping Wagner and Rice. I like Beggs more than Klinger and like Staley too. One point to consider though is your excellent outfield arms. For that reason only, Klinger is probably the best of the three in your park. Beggs and Staley with their high amount of single ** become better values on teams with weak outfield arms. On your team their cards actually negate the arms on their single's **.

I'd give you more advice but just realized I'm in that league too. Thus I don't like your team but would if it were in a different league.

Rich, I am trying a team with basically the same idea as yours at the moment. I am a lil outta my element with this however, as I am primarily a small ball guy.....

Here is the team, with 3/4th the same pitchers....

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=84167

The above team is on its way to possibly making the record books for total HRs, even though its a no DH league

At the moment, the team is struggling record wise because of the uneven scheduling of TSN. after two weeks (this coming Tues Morn), I will have played 42 team games, a GRAND TOTAL of 15 at HOME!!!

I dont have a true OBP monster like you do in Wagner, or a speedster like him for that matter. What I do have, is just power, lots and lots of power, at every position.

What this left me with is lineups, looking like such....

VS L
Banks
Hornsby
Ruth
Schmidt
Yaz
Hack
Cash
Parrish

VS R
Schmidt
Hack
Ruth
Hornsby
Yaz
Banks
Cash
Parrish

I have nobody on the leader board for INT walks, I DO have Hornsby on the leader board with 7 DPs (am guessing they are coming against L when he is batting 2nd)

Schmidt, with his B speed, is the best option I have for lead off VS R, where he has an OBP of .374

Banks, is not that great an option of lead off VS L, but have no other option I can see.

ANyhoo, didn't mean to hijack this thread, its Rich's. I was just trying to show him Staley is viable in Polo, everybody else is shaky, but a low to mid 5 era was expected (almost 6 was not)

I might keep 2 of your 4 higher priced RPers, and put that money in an upgrade somewhere

I might also look for Bailey at catcher instead of the two you already have.

You chose a park with Auto HRs, I say, go for the gusto and get the max HRs outta it you can. Which means, Brett could get downgraded, Wagner would go too. Downgrade two RPers, keep your SPers, and.....

SWING FOR THE STARS!!!

These bombed-type teams are either hit or miss. I either make Polo/Baker teams or Forbes types of teams and I have found that my good Polo teams have the right bullpen guys (Garber, Fryman, Newhouser, Tincup) anchoring the bullpen.
As for your offense, I think you need to keep Wagner. He is a more reliable source of OBP than Gehringer. I see Gordon is still out there and he would give you more pop for your park. I also prefer Ripper Collins over Murray, but they are pretty even.
