RESPONSE TO CF17 :

I would honestly have to answer that it is an attempt to compromise with
fluffyman who like yourself has been a member of the committee who
worked on past Leagues and who proposed this format upon completion
of League 5.

I do see the positive aspect of it and that would be that weaker
Franchises drafting up in the order may be able to improve themselves.
However, I actually agree with the negative points you pointed out.

I did send a revised message where I indicated that I was interested in
whether there was a strong sentiment towards keeping the original Theme
in place vs a change.

Bottom line is if Fluffyman would be ok with a straight draft using pure
Franchises I would have no issue.


NOT SURE I LIKE PICKING FRANCHISES IN ORDER, MIGHT TAKE TOO
LONG AND MIGHT CHANGE THE BALANCE OF THE LEAGUES TOO MUCH.

I'm fine with a straight draft using pure franchises. I'm assuming that after the draft any unclaimed players who played for a managers franchise could be picked up(provided they meet the 3 years OR 400AB, 100 IP, 50 IP for one season requirement).

RE: Two leagues of 24 teams. I can figure who the first 21 will be, but I'm unsure of the other 3-4 teams

BASED ON COMMENTS I FEEL WE SHOULD GO WITH THE STRAIGHT DRAFT OF PURE FRANCHISES WHICH WILL BE BASED ON THE RESOURCE TITLED TEAM BY TEAM ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BASEBALL.

I WILL LOOK AT AN APPROACH OF DRAFTING FA'S BASED ON USING THE REVERSE OF THE DRAFT LOTTERY USING PLAYERS FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE FRANCHISES BUT MIGHT WANT TO ASSIGN SPECIFIC TIME PERIODS ON A SATURDAY OF SAY A HALF HOUR FOR EACH FRANCHISE TO SELECT THEIR FA'S BEFORE THE NEXT TEAM DRAFTS.

Bob, sorry, but I'm a little slow on this one for some reason.

So, let me lay out what I think you are saying and then you can correct me.

1. I pick a franchise (say the Yankees)
2. I have exclusive auto draft rights to all of there players who are listed on the ATGIV Yankee/Highlander cards lists
3. Once draft is over, I can pick up any player who played for theYankees, provided they meet the 400/100/50 or 3 years requirement, regardless of what franchise list he is on. (as per you other leagues)

Yes, you have summarizied it correctly.

The following are the area's that need to finalized.

1) Need help on getting lottery results from tonight, hopefully.

2) Need to decide if FA selections are based on reverse order of lottery with the Franchise picking last in the draft getting first selection in the FA draft where each Franchise selects all FA's before the next Franchise picks.

3) Any Interest in the concept of enlarging the number of Franchises available to 24 and running 2 seasons with 24 total Franchises split among us.
