You need someone or 2 that hits RH's in that lineup.

ie. Dunn, Cust, Thome etc...

I had Cust but dropped him. I picked up HanRam to be my DH and leadoff hitter. Should I drop him in favor of Cust? If so, do I make Cust the leadoff hitter? FYI - Cust is a FA and Dunn and Thome are living the high life on someone else's team, and trades are never a guarantee.

Aero Dave,
You definitely have some mashers. But I personal do not like to spend so much money on just two guys coming out of the bullpen. You have to remember that bullpen guys only pitch an inning or two a game(if that). And you have two of them that are over 5 million. I think you could spread that money around a little bit elsewhere. Good luck to you no matter what you decide!

I dropped Raffy Perez and Papelbon and picked up Saito and Pedro Feliciano. Now I have a totally legit closer with less #s and a still a solid lefty set-up guy with no #s. I also have $1M extra :-) ... Now time to fix my offense with a few 2R-4R types, as per socalichiro's suggestion.

Who is still available by slugging?

Preferably a lefty.

I dropped Chone Figgins and picked up Abreu. However, some other guy dropped Lance Berkman to pick up Figgins. So I freed up a little $$ by subbing Eric O'Flaherty for Pedro Feliciano as a lefty set-up, then bam!, Berkman is my new RF. It's a bit odd that my three top hitters are switch-hitters (Teixeira, Berkman, and Beltran), but I think I'm satisfied now. Is Berkman worth starting all the time, or should I have a platoon with Reed Johnson or some other extreme BAL L?

In a hitting environment, I don't like to have ANY dead spots in my lineup.

Right now, you're gonna get [b:4eae41533e]zero[/b:4eae41533e] production behind the plate.

If you're gonna go cheap @ C (which I wouldn't recommend) at least grab Navarro vs. LH's (max BPHR) and Montero vs RH's (6 BPHR's).

[u:4eae41533e]Pitching wise...[/u:4eae41533e]

I'd lose Sosa/Lieber/Pineiro/Feliciano or Beimel and upgrade maybe Capps to a R2. You can downgrade Saito (great card, but vs. lefties the 4 column worries me) to say F. Cordero.

Neither of those catchers are available right now ... I dropped Saito in favor of Cordero, and then used the extra cash to pick up "The Freak", Tim Lincecum (see recent Sports Illustrated article). I could drop Lincecum for a cheap-o 5th starter and try go for a better catcher. What do you think?

Here are some current, reasonably priced catching options (by OPS):

Varitek
Shoppach
Snyder
Burke
Johjima
Treanor
Buck
Suzuki
Bowen** (only 1.07, so I may be able to keep Lincecum, too)

I like Treanor...why?? beacause he is one of the rare cards that doesn't hit into a DP...that's nice in the 8th hole.

I read the Andrew Stevens article...good stuff. But it looks like his ratings support the idea that it's more important to have lower rated corner fielders the centerfielders. For instance, a 3e9 in a corner spot is more harmful to your team than a 3e9 in CF (if you look purely at defense). Am I just reading his charts wrong, or would you agree?
