The Dark Knight League

Aieeeeee!!!!!

Young and Peralta both gone. It was either Street or Young, so I picked Street because I figured Peralta would hang around. So very wrong. I'm still not sure I made the wrong choice.

Shortstop Warning!

Postby Al Hogg » Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:18 pm

Now that I've got Peralta, thought I should warn those who don't have shortstops yet that the remaining pickings are weak. I project that some team will be starting Freddie Bynum (4e22, 4 injury rating).

Still getting used to the pace of a draft without Mark. Enjoyed having him in the league, but he did tend to slow drafts down.

Fearsome Foot-Fighters

This speaks to my pitching staff... hopefully they'll kick it better than they pitch it.....

Eh, Shortstops

Postby TomSiebert » Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:47 pm

I think there are more desperate areas than Shortstop. I see some already thin pitching rotations that still have only two starters, and there's about -- maybe -- a half dozen decent back half of the rotation guys left before it's all just a total mess. Middle relief is already a bunch of flawed guys, and there are no stud closers left at all. 2B is also looking mighty nasty.

Three things

Postby uptownmastermind » Wed Sep 03, 2008 8:42 pm

1. I didn't expect to grab both Chavez and Iwamura, but if anyone wishes to work something out for either, we can talk.

2. Could we somehow convince Wade Boggs to unretire so that we could use him as a backup third baseman and relief pitcher (referencing his knuckleball clinic in a relief appearance for the Yanks back in '97)? Anything to help us out with our rotations.

3. The team name will be... well, it won't be the Oklahoma City Thunder. It's the Providence Gothams. Sure, Providence doesn't exactly scream "ladies, clutch your purse", but considering that the Giants were once known as the Gothams, it' seems to floooooooooow a bit.

Let's....make....a Deal !

Postby TomSiebert » Wed Sep 03, 2008 8:56 pm

I'll talk about taking one of those 3B off your hands, Jason....if you know how to check your private messages, meet me there.

And speaking of Meat....no interest on your side from the deal I offered, oh off-balanced pitching rotation one?
