4e22: OK as backup SS?

4e22: OK as backup SS?

Howdy,

My first SOM team is doing well and I'm pleased. However, I really don't have a backup SS. The best I can muster is a 4e22 as a backup. For 1-3 games, would a 4e22 [i:1edab20b7c]do[/i:1edab20b7c]? Thanks!

Unless your starting SS has less than 600 plate appearances, I think you're good.

A 4 vs. 2 SS is worth about 50 extra singles prevented over the course of a full season. 50 singles is equal to about .75 in obp and .75 in slugging. You may also be able to save in errors. A cheap 2 SS is often the back up of choice. So a 2 SS with a 150 lower OPS is about the same value as the 4 SS.

Howdy,

Thanks for the help. I found a decent backup SS, but had to search among 3rd basemen to [i:54d715efe3]find[/i:54d715efe3] him.
