Stick with what you know (what are your best stadiums?)

Here are the top five stadiums (that I've played more than once) by winning percentage for my completed teams:

Griffith 455-355 .562
Yankee 27 351-297 .542
Forbes 613-521 .541
West Side 256-230 .527
Royals 511-461 .526

Henceforth, don't look for me playing any other stadiums. It took awhile to learn some lessons, but I think I'm catching on.

Westside Park has been very good to me so that would be my #1 followed by Griffith than Sportsman 46.

Got me thinking Adrian ........ (Not always a good thing) ....... I checked all my completed teams, leaving out oddball theme leagues or my own oddball concept teams. Anyways, here's what I found:

Huntington = 438 W - 372 L = .540
Forbes = 607 W - 527 L = .535
Polo = 776 W - 682 L = .532
Griffith = 1544 W - 1372 L = .529

I also combined Candlestick, Astrodome & Dodger '65 because they're similar and combined they were:

437 W - 373 L = .539

What did I learn? I learned I play twice as much in Polo as Huntington even though I'm apparently better in Huntington.

What else did I learn? I learned I SUCK in Fenway '67

I hate to think what you are saying about me since my success seems to be in the category "oddball theme leagues/oddball concept teams". Is oddball what I know? does it take an oddball ot know oddball? Do I hear someone in my ear saying "be the (odd)ball" :shock:

Nah, nothing negative there MBW, heck it seems like 1/2 my teams are built to break records rather than win games, that's why I didn't count them. I figured they would skew the real numbers.

Hmmm, I like that reasoning. I think I will limit my analysis to my championship teams (1) and therefore my winning percentage at Griffith is .574 :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: (Let's not get into all my other teams, please!) :wink:

I was just poking a bit of fun at myself after seeing my success in the 2 or three treally oddball leagues. More on point, I seem to better in Griffith, Comiskey 19, West side park and Forbes and badly in hitters parks. May even be more of a situation where I do better with pitching teams and poor with hitting teams. My pitching teams in hitters parks do "okay".

I love the challenge of creating a Yankee 56 team. Of course, when I lose out on my top choices in the autodraft (Mathews, Speaker, Reggie Jackson, Duke Snider), it becomes significantly harder. My best season to date was there - 92-70, lost the finals.
However, after giving a go at Forbes by overloading the hitting and spending very little on pitching to test it out, my second Forbes attempt (much more balanced) is 21 games over .500 with 33 games to go. So, maybe there's a new favorite?
