Managers allowed multiple teams...no

Postby RICHARDMILTER » Mon Sep 22, 2008 12:51 pm

Why does it say,"Managers allowed multiple teams...no" when you click on the advanced rules section,... when you join a new league? It never did this before. It must be because they caught people having multiple teams in the same league. All the people who called me a paranoid, conspiracy theorist, can eat crow! If they did not have instances of this, why would they add that to the advanced rules section of a league?? It is similar to people who are playing in the same on-line poker tourney under different names. They catch people doing this a lot. And think of all the people they do not catch. I am NOT saying this is a cheating community, I am quite sure over 90% of the people here would never even consider cheating, but there will always be those who will cut illegal corners,... if given the chance. And I did not appreciate all the people who piled on me when I suggested that this was happening.

last year Bernie added a feature to allow managers multiple teams into a league, it was a feature you could turn on when creating a league that was rarely if ever used. I think the option was taken away and just left on no

My bad...., that has to be the reason, because it is inconceivable that anyone in this community would ever try to gain a competitive advantage. Just like Bill Belichek would never ever break the rules and film the other team's play calling signals. Yeah,...it was really stupid of me to think that anyone would ever try to cheat. That just does not happen in this day and age, I will try to keep my lip buttoned up, and realize that the World is an honest and fair place, where no cheats exist!

One last point. I do not have proof of specific cheaters, but it would be foolish to assume that it has never happened. Especially with some of the moves and trades I have seen. Some may be made by less than good managers, but to believe that no one cheats, is as ridiculous as believing that everyone does!

Users create multiple team theme leagues. This might be the reason for such an option.

I don’t think this option would be used for cheating because all of those who are joining the league would be aware that it’s a 2 team theme league.

In a 2005 league I am playing in there is a manager who had played one season of that game before the current one.
His record for that one season was 140-22. I asked him about it and he said he bought all the teams in the league and drafted 11 of them to fail against the 1 good team. Just for kicks.

Deal or No Deal?

Those are expensive "kicks"!!! You could go to nearly the half of the Marlins' home games and sit in the "Fish Tank" for the same price as that!

For those of you who have not lived in South Florida, the "Fish Tank" is a section of the the right field bleachers where tickets are about $6. They were $5, but after they won the Series in 2003, the prices went up. They may be $7 or $8 by now. Does anyone know of other stadiums with ticket prices like that? 8-)
