First Choice in Live Draft

Postby MtheB » Thu Feb 09, 2006 6:23 pm

Okay, its live draft time, serpentine. The draft is separated into two separate drafts, with lottery randomly determining draft pick order for hitters, the live draft for pitchers is the exact opposite order.
Its an 80 mill non-DH league, everyone has the same home field: 53 Ebbetts Field.
You have the honor of the first pick for the hitter draft.

Mays. Every time. No second choice.

The more interesting choice is who would be drafted second.

I would never, ever ever take Cooper or Carter as my first pick in a serpentine draft at 80 Million.

Musial and Banks should be on the list.

Just had the #1 pick in BS06 round 1 (80M, No DH) and Mays was the EASY decision!! Absolutely a no-brainer.

Agree w/ Petro on Banks... was the only other hitter I would have considered.... as for the other guys, toss out all 1B, C, and corner OFers... despite how awesome Cobb is... there are just too many options.

Plus, Mays makes every pitcher better and you have the last pick there.

Mays 1, Yount 2. If Alexander were available, he'd be up in the 1 or 2 range. Don't think I'd ever do it any other way unless it was a small cap.

Defense and offense and durability in any park SOM can throw at you. These guys even sign autographs, smile for the camera, talk to reporters, appear at charity events, and test negative every time.

I bet they'd sell peanuts for you if you asked them... 8)

Any particular reason why Cecil is on the list?

Actually, tried to include Banks, Mathews and Musial, but the poll limits the number of choices.
Cecil was listed because I can never get him drafting him #2.... :-)

I get Cecil all the time and usually draft him 5th or 6th. Highest I ever drafted him was 4th.
