This is one of those teams I keep looking at and then I'm happy with it...and then I'm not, and then I am, etc. etc....

Other parks in my division include 2 Yankee '27's and a Yankee '56.
I really think I need a little more offensive punch and I don't have much of a leadoff hitter. Based on whats available in the FA, 3rd base seems like a place to upgrade my offense. I could trade the platoon of Protho and Gardner for either Rosen, Kurowski or Steinfeldt. But then I sacrifice defense and a greater risk of injury. Maybe I just keep looking at this team too much. Opinions? :?

If it were me, I'd dump some of that overpriced pitching for more offense! :P

Lack of pitching has killed about 12 teams in a row for me. This, i believe, is the antithesis of that philosophy. A little overkill perhaps.

Simon, I fall victim to that same problem all the time. Staring at my team for days on end, I fell COMPELLED to make changes! :) Your team looks real good. Don't mess with your top 3 pitchers! You could probably not make a change and be all right. However, if it was my team, I would consider:
1. Trading in the Orosco & Gossage pair for a reliever like Schultz, Hernandez, Fryman or even Newhouser and another cheap S only or S/R.
2. Dump Doran and pair Maz with a guy like Gantner, if you want to go cheap at 2b.
3. Use the extra dough to go from Gardner to D. Walling, if available. A Walling and Prothro platoon, in your park, would be excellent, IMO.
4. Possible consider going from Marquard to a Pollet, L. Williams, Zachary or L. Williams, if possible. Only because I've NEVER had success with Marquard. :)
All in all, a solid team, IMO. Good luck!
