Pat Burrell - a waste of 5 million bucks?

Pat Burrell - a waste of 5 million bucks?

Postby The Biomechanical Man » Sat Oct 04, 2008 8:23 am

I am stuck with Pat Burrell as my LF in a NL-only no-DH 2007 league. The guy can't field, can't hit for average, can't run, and has less than 600 PA. There is no confusion between Burrell and his teammate Jimmy Rollins. I have tried to shop Burrell around, but no takers.

Does anyone think that Burrell is a decent leftfielder for $4.74m?

Pat "The Walk" Burrell is nice/usable/an option in a hitters [b:3ff01bd0db]division[/b:3ff01bd0db] while hitting in the 2 hole(slow yes, DP's no) in front of 3 powers hitters like Jones, Fielder, A-Rod etc. He will score 100+ and still hit 35+ dingers.

I'm in the league as well but I have no need for him.

I have seen good numbers from him for others in the above scenario.

Interesting idea. Right now I have him batting 5th or 6th, but maybe I should move him to #2. However in my ballpark (Shea), I might keep him were he is.

im a big fan of burrell, i have had great success with him batting 2nd, u cant go wrong with a guy who gets on base around 40% and hardly has DPs not to mention the chance for 30-40 hrs, 100 runs, 100 rbis

Link doesn't work. To post a link to a team, go to your leagues statistics page, click on your team and paste the resultant URL here.
