First Time in Wrigley 1929- Any suggestions on my lineup?

In an 80MM League you can lighten up in the starting pitching a bit, I'd drop Mathewson, add a mid range lefty, Mc Gregor, Kaat, Mogridge etc.
Then use the $$$ to upgrade offense, one more big hitter, I like Clemente's defense but if your not facing alot of lefties his offfense is mostly singles.
Also a lefty in the pen, Klippstein will under perform, I've used him when I started this game and got a few decent season but overall a disappointment. T.Martinez, J.Orosco, S.Baumgartner, P.Richert, G.Staley all would be better choices.

Hope this helps some, Good Luck

Another great tool is Adrian's diamond dope

Ditto Klippstein. Ditto Mathewson. I would never use McClain outside a pitching park or all my division was in pitching parks due to #HR vs LH. I would downgrade him also. Demarree is also decent and reasonably priced, and I have had some luck with Burdette at even cheaper price. You really need some OBP IMO. You could sneak by with what you have, but you really need better. Having two unbalanced guys like Clemente and Lollar is probably one too many. Clemente offsets Smith's deficiencies vs lhp's. Gardner should also go IMO. Too punch & judy for hitting park. Having a great "D" to go along with a good offense is good in hitting parks, but you must skimp more than you have on starters, invest a little more in the pen and upgrade the offense. Regarding Wilson, I really wouldn't normally use him, but your team may be an exception. Your "D" is so good at the other positions and you lack punch. His defense would be "made up for" overall by your other top notch defenders, and you need hitters.
