Murray, Yaz and Bando would be the ones I would consider. I like Yaz but don't like to spend money on 4 good defensive outfielders knowing one will dh. 3b is a spot where I like to go cheap(Weaver, Gardner, Collins, Riggs/McMullin). I think there are other 1b options that are not far off Murray but will save you a few bucks.

I half agree with MBBW . Speaker is the one who you can really get some $$$ out of . Simmons in CF . You could get anyone to DH at a price of 5M or less and put 4M into pitching .

Good point. For some reason I tend to forget Simmons as a CF

Phoebus, Niehaus, Pleis, Candini, Martinez should all go. Maybe Riddle too.

There's not much difference between them and guys like Vance, Speer, Frock, Morehead, Yerkes, Reuther, Hallahan, Phillips, Cvengros or Drucke except that these guys cost alot less.

Used the money saved to rustle up one more quality $3.00+ mill reliever.

Who's playing 2B for you? Gantner?

Who's DH'ing for you? Cobb?

I'd drop Yaz and Gantner, play Cobb in RF, Simmons in LF, keep Speaker in CF and use the money saved to pick up a real 2B who can get on base and hit some HR's (Morgan, Hornsby, Gordon, Avila, even Money) and a value DH or DH platoon (Deron Johnson, Gary Roenicke, Mark Brouhard type vs. LHP's and a Don Mincher, Willie McCovey type vs. RHP's)

Also would look for a better backup to May, someone with "N" rated power otherwise you're missing out on the BP HR's when May is out of the lineup (which he will be from time to time). Terry Kennedy, Steve Lake, Jim Hegan, John Roseboro, Bruce Bochy are all nice options.

Thanx for the input. I happen to be in a division where all the teams I play love hitter's parks and those cheap SP are all gone. What do you think if I drop Speaker and pick up Avila then I can drop Phoebus and Martinez and grab Works and Garber
