Who's my leadoff batter?

Don't worry about Wagner. Just get Bancroft to back him up. The advice re Wagner was good advice.

PS Since you seem to be a LI theme league thought I'd note that I used to hang out at Target Rock and Caumset alot in the 80's. My favorite restaurant on the Island back then was Iberia in Huntington. Liked Jean Yves too. Lived in Massapequa from birth until 1988.

Petrosian, Thanks for the input. I p/u d. Jones & Clines. Also, the two restaurants you mentioned are no longer around.

I tend to agree with Petrosian, except for one thing. Davy Jones and Nettles aren't exactly deterrents to throwing nothing but hard righties against you. McCovey's the only true threat from the left side. Will that turn you into a 60 win team? No. But a smart manager in your division would race to the FA wire for Mike Garcia and any other unbalanced RHSP of any talent.

Good gosh...I just looked at you FA wire and I see three guys that I think would balance this team out pretty well: Morgan, Musial and Covington.

I've done the all-power lineup before (franchise theme league and not much alternative choices)... led league in home runs by a mile and finished mid-league in runs scored. Mays and McCovey were on the team w/ the likes of Bando and Reggie as well. This lineup will fail.

This is a DH league, but that works both ways. The other division parks are hitter parks, so that helps. The team is in Huntington, that will drag the OBP down a bit.

IMHO, the numbers do not lie, here are a couple of examples:

Fenway 67 team:
310 HRs, 1072 runs, Champ, , ratio = 3.45 R/HR

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=47337

vs RH
OBP 0.424
SLG 0.548
OPS 0.972
HR 5.5
BPHRs 52
vs LH
OBP 0.426
SLG 0.575
OPS 1.001
HR 5.9
BPHRs 53

Fenway Team
80 wins, 368 HRs, 1042 runs, ratio = 2.83 R/HR

vs RH
OBP 0.395
SLG 0.581
OPS 0.976
HR 6.6
BPHRs 64
vs LH
OBP 0.396
SLG 0.585
OPS 0.981
HR 7.0
BPHRs 63

Polo Team (with a small bit of pitching mixed in)
79 wins, 327 HRs, 901 Runs, ratio = 2.75 R/HR

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=73786

vs RH
OBP 0.384
SLG 0.483
OPS 0.867
HR 6.1
BPHRs 46
vs LH
OBP 0.375
SLG 0.518
OPS 0.893
HR 5.5
BPHRs 53

Who knows what this teams record will be, but the unbalanced lineup and low OBP are big red flags IMHO.

Best of luck, sschu

I dropped Hornsby, d. jones, and clines, for morgan, and covington. Hopefully this will balance things out. SSCHU what's your thought's on this?

I would downgrade Klinger or take Faber for Vuck and get Musial for York.
