The Empty Boxscores went 104-58 in the regular season and placed in the top five in the record books in Team WHIP, Team ERA and Fewest Team Errors.

Nice regular season, right?

Well, they were even better in the playoffs, check out their performance in 10 playoff games:

And, they only committed 2 errors in the 10 playoff games:

you have guys i love to pick purely for defense on that team; White, Gandil, Dolby. i like the combo of Dempsey and roseboro as well. Team batting avg. isn't impressive but only giving up 70 errors for a whole season sure is. How in the heck were you able to siphon off so many relief innings to Konstanty? i have been drafting him lately cuz he kills me when he's playing for someone else. Can't seem to keep him from getting killed while he's pitching for me though. ErA always seems to be over 5.00. :? Great team and obviously well managed. :D

sorry-having trouble with some of my caps.

That looks like OT's recipe for a championship.

:D

ATG-III might want to reconsider valuing defense a bit more in the prices next time around.

I recently heard from someone on these very boards ... "the best ideas are the ones you steal"

And with regards to pricing, I say NO, defense is highly overrated as it is .........

Impressive...a championship team with an OPS of ~.650, doesn't seem possible.
