auto draft. And the beauty is that the teams that get 6 free agents will be up first in waivers because they will most likely get fewer of their 25 man draft card.

$80 mil DH auto-draft. But lotto draft for franchise

Franchise players remain your property all year

Top 4 salaried franchises chosen can have up to 2 non franchise free agents that are chosen from the 12 franchises not drafted.

Next 4 highest salaried franchises can have up to 4 free agents.

The bottom 4 lowest salaried franchises can carry up to 6 free agents on their roster

Free agents can be traded, dropped and added at will as long as you do not exceed your FA limit (2,4 or 6)

Lotto (pick 3 highest to lowest) to determind franchise draft order and divisions will be aligned by geography. You must use your franchise home park and your team name must contain the city OR nickname of your franchise.

Not until you know what the freee agent pool is (12 teams not drafted) and the number of free agents you are eligible for.

But by all means buy and name your teams and get your core players from your franchise on your draft card.

I noticed something that we might all want to check. I bought my team and went to the SF. Giants and selected 10 pitchers and 15 hitters. I double checked (I hope) and all players on my roster matched the team as is available in the 1969 set.

The salary cap came to $69M and some change but was below the $70M + listed. Not a big deal but might indicate some other false calculations.

The Giants roster contained 26 players. We are going by the total salary available as opposed to just the players you choose. In other words you can't drop McCovey and then your salary would be $57 and get 6 free agents at that point.

You can drop McCovey if you like but you will still be ranked based on the Giants available $70 million.

G - just one clarification. In my case, having the Twins, I will only get 2 free agents. With the $80M salary cap, pickings will be slim for me unless I wanted to unload the Killer, Oliva, Bosman, etc. . After the autodraft, up to the start of the season, I can still scope out the waiver list and make changes - to my 2 free agents - correct? I understand that after the season starts I can still do this subject to the 80% player salary drop. All I'm looking for confirmation is that the waiver period after the autodraft is the same as normal, subject to me staying with my 2 free agent alotment. Thanks.

My understanding is the same as yours, ado jake. You will have 2 free agents from the 12 undrafted teams and all of the Twins. Pick up, drop, etc. of these two fre agents is up to you. You don't have to be stuck with the 2 free agents that you get in the autodraft.

But, Bosman is a Senator, not a Twin.
